and Mom and friends and "Kick the Can!" and "Hide and Seek! and "one, two , three Alivio!" etc.
Oh what wonderful memories! Too many friends have passed, Pops and Moms also. Those were the good old days, which sadly we will never see again. Only memories that I, as one , hope will be able to remember as long as I live!
Good timing, my friend. Annie and I were just commenting how glorious Rhode Island is when Spring arrives. How can anyone live in year-long perfect weather and be deprived of the seasonal changes? Grabbing my glove and an extra ball to meet "the gang" after school and later in the summer is a cherished childhood memory. I hope to live long enough to see the Colorado Rockies ever reach the world series, but at 3-16 I wouldn't bet I'll outlive such a phenomenon.
Ed, spring is beautiful with all the activities that take place after the cold freezing winter months. Although we welcome spring with all its beauty it also can and does on days bring a touch of winter. The song Spring will be a little late this year. Carly Simon, kind of wraps it up.
Outstanding! The descriptions brought back great memories of my youth and my times with my kids during cruel month of April, the start of baseball and softball season. But best of all was that great picture of your dad. Pete was always a fixture. Thank you.
Thanks, Paul. Yes, My father was at every game. Paul, do you remember when Lou C. was the home plate umpire at PCD games and was eager to get home?. He'd call 'Strike! Close enough."
Thank you. Joan

And beautiful memories they are, Natalie. It's a good time of year for you to hop on the bike, eh?
Natalie, Kick the can, you brought some memories of yesteryear. Thanks!

It's a beautiful time of year in a beautiful place, Larry. Colorado Rockies? Who in RI besides you roots for them?

Great piece, Ed. Great nostalgia for us oldsters! Loved the photo of your dad. I never knew him, but his son is a great testament to his legacy. Don
