Ed...What great memories! My dad and I went to the 1982 Super Bowl in Pontiac, Michigan. Thankfully, it was played indoors as temps outside plunged below zero. Ticket price? $45. Up with People provided the halftime entertainment with a tribute to Mo Town. We were/are Bengal fans and headed home with a heavy heart after dropping a 26-21 decision to the up and coming 49ers. Over 40 years later, we are still looking for that first Super Bowl victory.

Thanks, David. A good experience, but for me, one-and-done. I am looking forward to your presentation next week.

Indeed, it was, but the memories stuck.

All reasons why I would not ever go to a playoff!

Dr. Ed, I have tried contacting you for a couple years…

I have copies of my father’s Italian poems.

Call me at 401-245-6375 to pick up the poems!

As a die-hard Bronco fan, I can only say we were one mistake away from altering this year's AFC Championship game. They lost, but I still managed to make $140 on my prop bets at Bally's. My previous comments on Denver weather proved true as a sunny first half gave way to a "Northeast" style blizzard in the second half. Seattle is a very good team, but I'm hoping the Patriots prevail. I hold no grudges. GO PATS!

Well, not all was lost, my friend. Snow gotcha. We Pats fans appreciate your support. Go, Larry. Go Pats!

Ed, I was at that game too! How did we miss each other? Great column and I agree, nice experience but once was enough. TA

Ted, how could you forget? We did not miss each other. Joe Amaral and the gang stayed in Tom's house. And, I think we played gold... in cold weather... the day before.

In the mid 60’s my brother took his young son who had won tickets to a home game. Back then the seats were metal and coooold!!! Before halftime, they landed back in the living room, enjoying it on the television, drinking hot chocolate and munching on goodies. Best place to see a game-at home with all the creature comforts!!!!!

You will always have those memories-I’m sure that thinking of it NOW-it was a great time

Exactly, Virginia, but a warm, cozy home for viewing is the plan here on in.

Experience it was! Combination of a great sporting event and a good nightmare. May I suggest that you turn the tv on about 6 for the 6.30 game or get knockout before the game starts with all the razzmatazz and commercials galore although some hysterical. Enjoy the game! Go Pats!

Thanks, Peter. I never watch that pre-game hype, but I'll give it a try this year.

Good luck. I will rest my mind and body until 6 PM.

One and done!

There's no place like home.
