The ever so WRONG Bobby Kennedy
In a newscast aired on June 12, 2025, Kennedy told Fox News that 97% of federal vaccine advisers are on the take.
WRONG!
In the same interview, he claimed that children receive 92 mandatory shots.
WRONG!
The current childhood vaccine schedule includes 50 injections covering 16 diseases. State school entry laws typically require 30 to 32 shots across 10 to 12 diseases.
No state mandates COVID-19 vaccination. Kennedy’s “92 mandatory shots” figure comes from his head. The actual number is significantly lower.
He claims that only COVID-19 vaccines, not others, were tested against placebos.
WRONG!
The 1954 Salk polio trial, one of the largest clinical trials in medical history, enrolled more than 600,000 children and tested the vaccine by comparing it with a saltwater control. Similar trials, which used a substance that has no biological effect, were used to test Haemophilus influenzae type b, pneumococcal, rotavirus, influenza, and HPV vaccines.
He is clueless about how safe vaccines are, claiming that “nobody has any idea” how safe routine immunizations are.
Measles . . . again
Halfway through 2025, there have already been over 1,200 recorded measles cases, 155 hospitalizations, and 3 deaths, including two unvaccinated children. It is the first time people have died from a measles infection in the United States in a decade. It is extremely contagious. 92% of unvaccinated people exposed to measles end up contracting the disease.
The spread of measles is closely linked to vaccine hesitancy and vaccine misinformation, like the kind the Secretary spreads.
Before the measles vaccine became widely available in the 1960s, nearly everyone in the United States contracted measles by the time they were 15. Each year, millions of children were infected, tens of thousands were hospitalized, and hundreds died.
In 2000, the World Health Organization declared that measles had been near eradicated in the United States due to the success of a vaccination program.
In 2000, there were 86 cases of measles recorded in the United States.
MMR vaccination rates have dropped sharply due to misinformation about the safety and effectiveness of vaccines. One of the most influential sources of misinformation is Secretary Kennedy, who has spread false information to millions of people about measles and the MMR vaccine.
And too many believe him, too many.
On Fox News on March 11, 2025, Kennedy suggested that contracting measles was preferable to getting vaccinated. Kennedy falsely claimed the MMR "vaccine wanes about 4.5% per year (NOT supported by science). So that means older people are essentially unvaccinated."
WRONG
The concentration of measles antibodies can decrease over time. Nonetheless, the MMR vaccine provides lifetime immunity for nearly everyone, which is why so few vaccinated people contract measles.
Kennedy also falsely suggested that the vaccine was just as dangerous as measles. "There are adverse events from the vaccine," Kennedy said. "It does cause deaths every year. It causes -- it causes all the illnesses that -- measles itself causes encephalitis and blindness, et cetera, and so on."
WRONG, WRONG, WRONG
No deaths are related to the MMR vaccine in healthy people.
Secretary Kennedy, there is no evidence of an association between MMR immunization and encephalitis, as you stated there was.
In May, Mr. Secretary, you refused to endorse measles vaccination, telling a House panel that you would "probably" opt for measles vaccination if you had a child today. You insisted that you were "not going to just tell people everything is safe and effective if I know that there are issues."
Undermining vaccine science . . .
Kennedy has repeatedly suggested that childhood vaccines like the MMR vaccine cause autism, citing discredited research. He refused to rule out the link during his Senate confirmation hearing in January. In a visit to Texas, Kennedy said people should spend less time worrying about measles and more time focused on autism. Why not focus on both?
WRONG!
The evidence is clear and publicly available: Vaccines have dramatically reduced childhood illness, disability, and death. And do not cause autism!
His constituents are like driftwood in a bad place, taking one leap after another into his dark area. As O. Henry wrote ‘as immovable as a setter at the scent of quail.”
The Secretary portrays unenlightened “leadership.”
He is like a truant schoolchild carrying a capricious arrogance of all-being, all-knowledge. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The evidence is clear and publicly available: Vaccines have dramatically reduced childhood illness, disability, and death on a historic scale.
As Katelyn Jetelina states, It’s the unraveling of decades of progress, representing one of the greatest public health achievements of our era.
Oh dear Secretary Kennedy. You are so tiring and so dangerous. Ya gotta get out!
Thanks for this Ed. Well stated. We need to keep repeating the truth.
The entire cabinet of the Orange menace rolls out harm every day….
RFK Jr a total incompetent
